Getting Here

Roosevelt Campobello International Park is on the southern end of Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada.

When entering Canada, it is necessary to cross through Canadian Customs. On returning to the United States, you must pass through U.S. Customs. In 2002, border waits at the Lubec/Campobello crossing were a maximum of about fifteen minutes.

During the summer season, access to Campobello is also available by car ferry from Deer Island, NB via Letete, NB.

From Boston, Massachusetts

  • Take I-95 north to Bangor, Maine.
  • Drive east from Bangor on U.S. Route 1A to Ellsworth.
  • From Ellsworth take Route 1 to Whiting Village.
  • In Whiting, take Route 189 east to Lubec.
  • In Lubec, cross the FDR Memorial Bridge to Campobello Island.
  • Pass through Canadian Customs.
  • Drive approximately 1.5 miles north on Highway 774.

From Saint John, New Brunswick

  • Take Highway 1 west to St. Stephen.
  • Cross the international border to Calais, Maine.
  • Drive south from Calais along U.S. Route 1 to Whiting Village.
  • In Whiting, take Route 189 east to the FDR Memorial Bridge.
  • In Lubec, cross FDR Memorial Bridge to Campobello Island.
  • Pass through Canadian Customs.
  • Drive approximately 1.5 miles north on Highway 774.
